Though most people ride, drive or at least see vehicles every day, these common objects present serious dangers to anyone who uses them or is around them. Cars, trucks and other automobiles can easily cause serious injuries to anyone involved in a crash with them or who is struck by them. Unfortunately, a pedestrian accident has the increased chance of serious or fatal injuries because pedestrians have little protection against speeding vehicles.

It was recently reported that an accident in New Haven County resulted in life-threatening injuries to a pedestrian. Apparently, the 67-year-old man was attempting to walk across a street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle. It was not mentioned whether the man was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident. Nonetheless, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

Authorities arrived at the scene, and the pedestrian was unresponsive. He was transported to an area hospital with injuries to his head and leg. Reports stated that those injuries were considered life-threatening. Authorities are continuing to investigate, and the driver will likely face charges when apprehended.

The man injured in this New Haven County pedestrian accident will undoubtedly be lucky to survive if he can overcome the injuries he suffered. Hopefully, authorities will quickly apprehend the driver involved in this incident so that justice can be served. The injured man may want to pursue justice of his own by filing a personal injury claim against the driver once that person is located in order to seek compensation for allowable damages.
