Every day, those who choose to drive while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs put lives at risk. Regrettably, some of these people cause a traffic accident that leads to lifelong injuries, while others are involved in fatal drunk driving accidents. In New London, and cities around Connecticut, drunk drivers continue to make poor decisions, even when they are well aware of the potential consequences associated with driving under the influence.
A 26-year-old woman from Connecticut was recently charged with drunk driving. The woman, who has a scheduled court appearance in March, was released after a $500 bond was posted. According to law enforcement officials, the woman's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit after she submitted to a breath test.
Authorities also say that the woman was driving while drunk during a traffic crash, which occurred in Milford. Law enforcement officials responded to the scene of the accident, which only involved the woman's vehicle. After an investigation, they apprehended the woman.
After a traffic accident occurs, victims should take a close look at their options. If the crash was caused by another person's negligence, or reckless behavior, they must be held accountable. Unfortunately, drivers will continue to take to the road after drinking too much alcohol and more wrecks caused by driving under the influence will take place. When someone has been hit by a drunk driver, or a member of their family is suffering after a DUI crash, they may want to think about speaking with an attorney who has dealt with these cases.
