A head-on collision in Litchfield, Connecticut, has taken one person's life and injured two others. According to police, a 32-year-old Warren man was driving a car that for some reason crossed the center line of traffic and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by a 66-year-old woman from Torrington.
The Warren man reportedly suffered fatal injuries, and a 30-year-old passenger in his vehicle was transported to a hospital to be treated for broken bones. The extent of her injuries wasn't reported.
Police say the Torrington woman had to be transported by air to Hartford Hospital. She was said to have suffered severe internal injuries.
Such tragedies can leave families and whole communities reeling in grief. The unexpected nature of a fatal head-on collision can seem nearly impossible fathom, and victims or their families often don't know where to turn for answers.
On top of the physical and emotional damage caused by a serious car accident, families are often confronted with the financial stress of medical bills and lost time from work. Insurance matters have to be addressed, and in many cases, a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit is necessary to receive the full measure of compensation in the wake of an injurious or fatal crash.
Proving liability in these cases can be a daunting task that victims and grieving families should not have to confront alone. An attorney with experience in these types of claims may be able to clarify the legal options for achieving justice after a devastating car accident.
